Services

Dog Walking - 30 minutes and 60 minutes:

Fetch and Walk prides itself on offering a safe and reliable dog walking service.  You can feel reassured in the knowledge that your dog is getting the exercise and socialising requirements that it needs.  We offer walks that are interesting and stimulating for your dog, utilising public footpaths and parks within the local area. Your dog would never be walked off lead without your written consent and only then when the walker is confident with recall.  We will reinforce any commands that your dog understands and help to teach new training commands if you would like us to do so.

Our group walks can be great fun, as we appreciate how much dogs love to run, chase a ball, explore, get muddy, play and interact with other dogs off lead.  Group walks will take place within a two hour time frame and are only offered on our 60 minute group walking rate.  This service is suitable for well behaved, sociable dogs who demonstrate a good recall technique.  We will only walk two dogs from different households at any one time, either on or off lead, as we consider this to be a safer and more enjoyable experience for both your dog and the minder.

On our one to one walks, your dog will benefit from our undivided attention. The walks will be tailored to the individual needs of the dog, they can be energetic or a relaxed stroll, whatever is best for your dog.

We are flexible in being able to offer walks from very early morning through to late afternoon and we will always ensure that your dog has access to fresh drinking water after the walk.

Dog Home Boarding:

Fetch and Walk provides dog home boarding as an alternative to kennels and is ideal for days out, short breaks or longer holidays.  We are licensed with the Local Authority to provide day and overnight boarding within a family home.

All dogs staying with us will be treated like one of the family and will have access to a secure garden.  We will arrange for you and your dog to visit the home in advance to meet with the boarding family.  We will discuss your requirements, getting to know a bit about your dog, its routine, eating habits and behaviour.  We need to make sure that the dog will be compatible with the family and any other dogs that may be staying within the home.  You will need to provide food, the dog's bed and not forgetting, their favourite toys for them during their stay.

Familiarizing the dog in advance will prevent your pet becoming stressed and withdrawn when they are away from their usual home environment.

Pet Taxis:

Our pet taxi service can transport your pet for trips to the vet or groomers.  They will receive individual attention and be transported securely in a carrier, a large cage or behind a dog guard.  Please contact us for further information.

Home Pet Sitting - Per night (up to 24 hours):

Fetch and Walk provides Home Pet Sitting. We can place a person in your home to look after your pets while you you are away.

We will arrange to visit your home in advance of the booking to discuss your requirements, getting to know your pets, their routine, eating habits and behaviour.

This service is subject to availability, so early booking is recommended.

Puppy Home Visits - 30 minutes:

Puppies shouldn't be left alone for too long and our home visit service is designed to help reduce any separation anxiety.  Your puppy will be rewarded with fun activities, reducing boredom and enabling them to settle more comfortably until your return.  The Kennel Club recommends that puppies should not be left for more than four hours on their own and this service is offered for puppies up to the age of six months old.

Puppies need much less exercise than fully-grown dogs and over exercising a growing puppy may cause damage to developing joints, causing early arthritis.  A ratio of five minutes exercise per month of age (up to twice a day) until the puppy is fully grown is the recommendation from the Kennel Club.  Once they are fully grown, they are able to cope with longer walks.

During the visit, we will take your puppy into the garden, feed and play with him/her and clean up any accidents that they may have made.  We will start introducing your puppy to getting used to walking on a lead and help to reinforce any training commands.  When your puppy has received it's full course of vaccinations, we will walk him/her out doors, increasing the walking time in accordance with Kennel Club recommendations.  We will help to socialize your puppy with sights, sounds, smells, other people and environments in a controlled manner and continue to reinforce training commands.

Comfort Break Home Visits - 20 minutes:

During a comfort break visit, we will let your dog in the garden for a toilet break or take your dog for a short walk around the block. These visits are ideal if you own an older dog that cannot manage one of our regular walks due to mobility issues or a dog that is recovering from an illness or operation.  We can take them for a short walk or let them out in the garden for a toilet break.  We are also happy to administer medication to your pet according to your instructions.

Small mammals Visits - 30 minutes and Small Mammals Home Boarding:

We can provide 30 minute home visits to feed small caged mammals e.g... hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, mice, rats, rabbits and caged birds too.

We can also provide a small mammals home boarding service in our own homes for extra peace of mind.

Cat Visits:

Our cat visit service provides an alternative option to your cat having to stay in a cattery.  We appreciate that cats are territorial animals and are much happier in their own environment.

We provide a 20 minute visit, once or twice a day as required, to attend to your cats.  We will feed them, making sure their bowls are washed and cleaned and ensure that they have access to plenty of fresh drinking water.  We will also empty, clean and refresh litter trays.

We can help make your home more lived in and secure by tidying up the post, switching lights on or off, drawing curtains and fetching the dustbins in or out on dustbin day.  We are also happy to water any plants or carry out any other small tasks that you may require.
